At the forefront of integrating sustainability and sport, the golf industry continues to develop its voluntary responsibility for nature, resources and communities. Underpinning this is a new Sustainability Drive, supported by GEO and some of Europe’s leading golf associations and businesses.
The initiative promotes the business benefits of operating sustainably whilst providing all of the tools and resources required to capitalise on this opportunity.
The initiative is being led by the Golf Course Association Europe (GCAE) and Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE), in collaboration with the Federation of European Golf Greenkeepers Association (FEGGA) and supported by Syngenta.
Which golf club doesn’t want to be efficient in the use of resources; valued by the community and rich in nature? Or, in other words, save money, be recognised, and have a great course? In practical terms this is sustainability. And golf is in the fortunate position that it can do well by doing good.
So read on, get involved, strengthen your golf business and association and help tell the story of golf’s value to people and the environment.
Leadership in sustainability is vital, and national associations can proudly and confidently lead the way. Pick up a wide range of useful, free communications materials in the support hub – use these to help raise awareness, grow participation and strengthen your own public, government and sponsor relations.
