The Market
Tourists that visit this area have a high purchasing power. The environment is discreet with a wide range of luxury hotels, restaurants and leisure areas, close to a semi-virgin beach, the best in the Andalusian coast.
Some other golf courses are located in the surroundings less than 6 miles away such as Golf Novo Sancti Petri, Campano Golf and Golf La Estancia. Also Villanueva Golf, Golf Montenmedio, Golf El Puerto, Costa Ballena Golf, Sherry Golf and Golf Montecastillo just a few minutes by car.
You will also find sport facilities such as Matchpoint (Iberostar Royal Andalus Sport Center), HEIT (International Tennis & Padel Academy), Royal Horse Center, La Patiña Horse Center, Outsail Yacht Academy, Sancti Petri Yacht Club, are located really close.
The course is near La Barrosa and Sancti Petri beaches. Both has services such as beach bars, news-stand, hammock & y parasol, sport areas, nursery, playground, leisure activities, etc. Both beaches hold the ISO 14001 Certificate about environmental management, Q Certificate of Touristic Quality, the EU Blue Flag and the Eco Beaches Flag.
Facilities & Design
Sancti Petri Hills was designed by Spanish Ryder Cup star Manuel Piñero who played in the Matches of 1981 and 1985, when he claimed four points out of five for the team which captured the trophy from the United States for the first time since 1957.
The course, which was opened in 2006, covers an area of 39.8 hectares and the holes, measuring a total of 4,767 metres (par 68), are routed around eight lakes and three long estuaries that provide an ideal playing environment for both experienced players and beginners.
The club house over a surface of 150 sq.m includes a café, restaurant, locker rooms, pro-shop, etc.
The golf course has Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon) in tees, fairways and rough, and Bentgrass in greens and fringes (Agrostis stolonifera Seaside II in fringes and Agrostis atolonifera L-93 in greens).
The water pumps, which distributes water to the whole golf course, is located at the maintenance area. It contains six pumps with a computer system which regulates sprinklers.
The golf course have an irrigation system covering over 95% of the playing field, a drainage system and a waterfall recover system which directs water to the ponds. Maximum water recovery performance is guaranteed, as well as the playability of the course after a great raining time.
The irrigation system is a Rain Bird CIRRUS mainly with Bird EAGLE 700-750 sprinklers and minority Rain Bird EAGLE 500-550 sprinklers.
